International School Joseph Allen Stein Learning Center IB School
A pivotal phase of the masterplan implementation was converting a previously dark and broken up original Stein building used for classrooms and transforming it into the Learning Center housing the middle and high school library.
For decades this heralded international school enjoyed success programmatically, but the campus and facilities took a back seat. In the 1960s, renowned American architect Joseph Allen Stein designed and built a number of now landmarked structures which served as inspiration for the masterplan and subsequent building renovations. Locating a communal program such as the library at the center of the campus not only allowed for better flow through and around the campus, but opened up the historic pavilion building showcasing the legacy of the school as well as the priority on teaching and learning.
